Recipes on Your iPads – Kitchen Mounts from Belkin

If you’re anything like me, the few times you get out a recipe, you pull it up on a computer.  Except having a laptop in the kitchen is never the best idea.  And then came along the iPad, but still you have to worry about getting flour or grease all over your precious tablet.

Belkin has come to the rescue!  They just announced three different stands and mounts to help out every tech-loving chef.

The Fridge Mount for iPad 2 holds the iPad securely on your fridge.  Not just for recipes, think about how easy it will be to keep track of grocery lists, new recipes, and messages for your family.

The Chef Stand + Stylus is made for recipes, and the stylus itself lets you protect your iPad from messy hands.  I like that the magnetic tip wakes up the iPad, perfect for when you have longer tasks to complete.

Lastly, the Kitchen Cabinet Mount gives you the option to suspend your iPad from any cabinet or shelf.  Use the mount to watch television, cooking shows, or to keep your recipe in view.

Each mount is reasonably priced for $39.99 or $49.99 for the Cabinet Mount.  Not bad, especially because you get some piece of mind and easy recipe access.

Atari Arcade-Duo Brings Back the Joystick

Who doesn’t remember playing the classic Atari gamesMissile Command, Pong, and Crystal Castles are all fondly nestled in our childhood reminiscences.  Creator of some of the first video games, Atari has found a way to make a comeback in the digital age:  the iPad.  You can easily download 100 classic Atari games to your iPad through the Atari Greatest Hits app.  But to make it all even better, you can play them all with the joystick.

Atari Arcade

iPad + Joystick = Classic games!

With the Atari® Arcade Duo™ Powered Joystick, you can set your iPad into the holder and relive those long summer afternoons in the local arcade.  Even if you were spending your childhood years after the Atari games were in their prime, most of us remember the old games off in a corner of your favorite restaurant or movie theatre.   The new iPad accessory will let you enjoy those games at home, without having to buy a used, giant machine.

Think Geek actually has their own version of the accessory, but since the Atari Arcade was built with Atari games in mind, it works seamlessly with their Greatest Hits app.  While Think Geek’s iCade does have the enclosed look, it’s bound to be more expensive than the wide-release toy.

Since the Atari Arcade will be distributed by stores such as Target, Walmart, and ToysRUs, undoubtedly Atari is pushing for the younger generation’s attention.  Sure, let the kids take the iPad for a while and play, but when you start getting jealous just remember – your bed time is later than theirs.

Wacom Inkling Combines Ink and Digital

Ok, so it’s not, strictly speaking, an accessory for iPhone or iPad.  Right now the Inkling must be used on your Mac or PC, but it is compatible with Audtodesk® SketchBook® Pro, which you can get on your iPad.

Plus, this is the coolest thing I have seen in a while.

The Inkling basically allows you to draw on paper and have that transfer into a digital image.  You can even create layers while working.  The Inkling works with a special pen (but regular paper), tracing your movements and shadings to capture it for the digital devices.  Of course, the best thing about the device is that it uses regular ink, so your experience will be just as if you were sketching.  You just get to do it while saving the image digitally.

Wacom says that the Inkling will be available mid-September.
